The British racer took the deficit and closed in to equal on points with his championship rival – however, sits at the top of the standings by virtue of having more race wins; eight in total.
Teammate Christian Mansell also looks well and truly in control of the rookie standings following an overall podium, as Matias Zagazeta enjoyed a further solid weekend of battles with those around him.
O’Sullivan’s pace was once again on display early doors as he set super times around the Norfolk circuit throughout testing on Friday. However, it was his race pace that impressed again over the course of the three races on offer. Race one saw him cross the line first taking a provisional win on the road before a post-race penalty dropped him down to second. However, he put this behind him just a few hours later and fought brilliantly in the reverse grid race to take the victory.
He continued this fantastic pace during the lone Sunday race with a further convincing victory which puts him level on points with his championship Rival Luke Browning; however, as O’Sullivan has more wins, eight in total, he leads the standings with just one final round to go November.
O’Sullivan said of the weekend;
“There car was great all weekend and we’re level on points in the championship but leading due to race wins which means a great weekend all round!
After Thruxton, I just attacked each race as much as possible to get the advantage back which we’ve done this weekend.”
Meanwhile Mansell was once again a solid contender and leads the Rookie class by some margin. He also graced the podium for the opening race of the weekend having enjoyed a fantastic battle for position throughout.
The second and third races of the weekend saw the Carlin driver finish eighth and ninth respectively as he continues to build his points tally up well.
Zagazeta took 12th, 11th and 11th across the three races following some feisty battles involving the young Peruvian.
The final round of the championship will get underway around the Brands Hatch Indy circuit on the 14th/15th November.
