Bilinski will contest his second season in the junior series with the Surrey based team.
Carlin are four times winners of the F4 British Drivers’ title with Lando Norris (2015), Max Fewtrell (2016), Jamie Caroline (2017) and Zane Maloney (2019) and have won the Teams’ title in every season the team have competed. Carlin finished second in the 2020 Drivers’ standings with Zak O’Sullivan. Bilinski will be aiming to add to Carlin’s tally of 57 wins so far in the series when he makes his race debut with the team later this year.
Last season, Bilinski claimed a total of three podiums in his first season in single-seaters, recording third place at Oulton Park, Thruxton and Snetterton over the course of the year. Prior to racing in British F4, Bilinski raced in the Ginetta Junior Championship, but in a season that was blighted by retirements, was unable to show his true potential.
Speaking about joining Carlin, Bilinski said, “I’m really excited to be announcing my new partnership with Carlin, and a return to battle for the British F4 title in 2021.
“Last season gave me a lot of really valuable experience, and I’m looking forward to putting that together with the team to really unlock my potential.
“I know first-hand how competitive the championship can be, so I’ve got a busy few months ahead of me now to keep testing, keep learning and make sure we arrive at Thruxton in the best position possible.”
Team Principal Trevor Carlin added, “Roman is an extremely welcome addition to the team. We’ve been very impressed with him so far in the couple of days testing he’s done in the car. Without doubt he has a lot of potential and will be a great asset to the team. Roman enjoyed a strong first season last year and should be aiming for the championship title in 2021. We will do all we can to support him and I look forward to working with him further this year.”
Bilinski joins already announced team-mate Kai Askey in Carlin’s 2021 line-up. The F4 British Championship features 10 rounds with three races per weekend. The season will kick off at Thruxton from 8 – 9 May.
