Trulli came into the season in Europe as UAE Formula 4Champion, having claimed a stunning 13 podiums including four wins to be crowned the victor. Previously, Trulli had a successful career in karts, making the 2021 season his first in single-seaters.
Making the big step-up to Euroformula Open in 2021, the Formula 4 Champion’s best result of the season so far has been a third place at the season opener in Portimao in May.
While Carlin have sat out three events of the season, the team did compete in Spa-Francorchamps last month with their BRDC British F3driver Christian Mansell. The Euroformula Open rookie claimed a best finish of fourth in race two of the weekend.
Carlin are delighted to be back in the championship this weekend with Trulli who commented, “I’m happy to be with Carlin this weekend for my home event. We are focusing on building up a good relationship and getting up to speed quickly. It would be great to have a good result at home.”
Trevor Carlin added, “We pleased to have Enzo with us this weekend in Imola. It will be a steep learning curve to get to know each other quickly and get to the grips with our car, but Enzo is a really bright young driver so I have real confidence it will be a positive experience. We’re looking forward to working with him this weekend and hopefully for future races.”
