Abbi Pulling has secured the 2024 F1 Academy title following an impressive season racing in the Alpine liveried car operated by Rodin Motorsport. Despite there being one final round to go, Pulling delivered a stellar performance, taking second on in the opening race of the weekend, culminating in her well-deserved F1 Academy Title.
Pulling’s 2024 season in the F1 Academy was marked by multiple key victories including both race wins in Miami and Singapore. With fierce competition across the board, Pulling has had the series win firmly in her sights since the first round of the season in Jeddah and has been one to watch from the get go.
Impressing in her Alpine car operated by Rodin Motorsport throughout the season, Pulling demonstrated remarkable consistency, securing multiple podium finishes to see her podium in every race of the season so far, and accumulating crucial points keeping at the forefront of the standings. This incredible form sees her wrap up the series victory with one round to spare.
Qatar, the penultimate round of the season, proved no different for the British racer who was quick to get up to speed in free practice before qualifying on Saturday where she locked in third position starting places. Race one, with everything to play for, took place under the lights late at night and saw Pulling launch brilliantly off the line to slingshot her way into second by the end of the first lap. From there, she held her nerve and drove an incredible race to finish second and take the 2024 Series title.
Pulling said of the victory, “It’s just everything that I wanted. It’s amazing being Champion, but it's all about next year for me. It's a big relief off of my shoulders and I've worked so hard for this.
“The team have worked so hard for this and they deserve it so much. They’ve done everything that we’ve needed this year, they’ve given me everything that I’ve needed to do this. To do it in the fashion we have, I’m speechless.
“It’s been incredible. Going into this year, I keep saying it but I’m going to say it again, I had no option, I had to win! I managed to do it in a way that I actually put less pressure on myself going into the end of the year. I’m so happy, I don’t know what to say.”
Celebrating with the team in Qatar, Rodin Motorsport team owner David Dicker said, “Abbi has shown exceptional skill and determination throughout this season. Her series win is well-deserved, and we are incredibly proud of her achievements."
