Rodin Motorsport’s British F4 team enjoyed a strong weekend in Zandvoort as the UK national championship stepped outside of Britain for the first time this year. Jimmy Piszcyk, Adam Al Azhari and Ella Lloyd all took podiums along the way and were joined by Rodin Motorsport’s F1 Academy racer Chloe Chong for her second outing in the Wera Tools F4 British Championship certified by FIA this season.

A bumper grid of 27 cars ensured that qualifying on Saturday morning was as intense as ever, and despite the added challenge, the Rodin Motorsport quartet delivered when it counted – with all four drivers lining up inside the top eight; a superb collective effort at the 2.626-mile Dutch circuit.

However, for the opening race of the weekend, it was each driver’s second-fastest lap that determined the grid. This placed Piszcyk fourth, Al Azhari fifth, Lloyd eighth, and Chong 11th. There was early drama at Turn 1 as Al Azhari spun, triggering a safety car period. Piszcyk looked to take advantage on the restart and challenge for a podium but was ultimately forced to settle into the rhythm of the race, crossing the line in fourth. Lloyd delivered a confident performance to finish seventh, while Chong’s race ended in heartbreak while running just outside the top ten before contact on the final lap forced her into retirement.

Sunday’s opening battle, the partially reversed grid race, was full of drama from the outset. A first-lap incident eliminated several cars, including Chong, and led to a red flag to clear the track. On the restart, the remaining Rodin Motorsport trio held their nerve and showed strong pace.

The trio quickly formed a train behind race leader Ary Bansal, with Lloyd overtaking teammate Al Azhari in the closing stages to move into second. However, a post-race penalty for a jump start dropped Lloyd to third, reinstating Al Azhari into second place. Piszcyk continued to rack up valuable championship points with another consistent run to fourth.

The final race of the weekend offered one final opportunity to add to the team’s tally. Piszcyk led the Rodin charge, claiming second place to round off a strong weekend. Lloyd followed closely behind in fourth, adding more solid points to her Challenge Cup tally. Chong crossed the line in 20th, gaining valuable mileage after two tough races, while Al Azhari unfortunately retired from the race.

The championship returns next month as they head to Scotland to take on the thrilling Knockhill circuit.
