From maiden podiums and victories to a record points haul, the 2026 FIA Formula 3 campaign provided plenty of memorable moments for Rodin Motorsport.
The team finished P6 in the Teams’ Championship, setting a new team record for points scored in a single season. Pedro Clerot finished P6 in the Drivers’ Championship in his rookie season, while Brando Badoer finished P8 with four podiums, including his maiden Feature Race victory in Monaco. Christian Ho completed his first full F3 campaign with the team in P26.
The team has continued to build momentum year on year, with podiums increasing each season and 2026 marking its strongest F3 campaign to date.
The season began in Melbourne back in March, where Badoer made an immediate impact, securing P3 in the opening Sprint Race of the season to claim his first F3 podium.
“Definitely the first podium in Australia, then obviously winning in Monaco, my first Feature Race win in F3 in such a special place. We had a lot of other strong weekends in Barcelona, Spa and Budapest, so there were a lot of moments that made me grow as a driver and a person.”
After a three-month break in the championship calendar, the team returned to action in Monaco, where Clerot secured his first F3 podium with P3 in the Sprint Race before Badoer continued to impress on Sunday, securing his maiden F3 victory.
“It felt incredible and was a dream come true. My first Feature Race win in F3 in such a special place.”
Further podium success followed in Spielberg, where Clerot finished P2 in the Sprint Race before climbing from P10 to P4 in the Feature Race. At Spa-Francorchamps, the team recorded its first-ever double podium in FIA Formula 3, with Badoer finishing P2 and Clerot P3. Badoer then added another podium in Budapest, taking P3 in the Feature Race.
For Clerot, his rookie campaign provided plenty of opportunities to learn and develop, with the progress clear throughout the season.
“It was a bit up and down, with a few harsh rounds for things that were out of our control, but overall it’s been a really good year. I’ve learnt a lot, enjoyed it a lot and I’m happy with the progress we’ve made as a team.”
That progress was clear in the season finale in Madrid. Clerot secured P2 in Qualifying 1 and P3 in Qualifying 2 before an incident at the final corner of his final push lap left his car heavily damaged. Working late into the night, the team repaired the car in time for Saturday’s Feature Race.
Clerot then delivered when it mattered, making a perfect start to move straight into the lead and going on to secure his maiden F3 victory.
“I’m extremely happy. I can’t believe everything that’s going on right now. I’m just very happy for the team. It was a really good start, really good pace overall. I cannot believe it. The team deserves it so much.”
He followed that up with another podium on Sunday, finishing P3 in Feature Race 2 to complete a memorable rookie season.
For Christian Ho, 2026 marked his first full FIA Formula 3 campaign. After competing in all but the final round, Ho stepped away from racing in Madrid as he prepared to begin his mandatory national service in Singapore. Despite a challenging season, Ho took valuable experience from his first full year in F3 and thanked the team for its continued support throughout the campaign.
Niccolò Maccagnani then stepped in for Ho in Madrid, making his FIA Formula 3 debut and becoming the youngest driver ever to compete in the championship.
Reflecting on the season, F3 Team Manager Sam Waple said:
“It’s been a really positive year and I’m incredibly proud of what everyone has achieved. We’ve scored more points this season than ever before and had two drivers finish in the top ten for the first time, which is a fantastic result. We’re always looking for more and are confident we can continue to push forward next year.”
With the 2026 season now complete, the team will take the experience gained throughout the campaign into preparations for another year of FIA Formula 3 competition.
