Rodin Carlin is pleased to confirm their FIA Formula Two line up for the 2024 season will feature Zane Maloney and Ritomo Miyata. Maloney remains with the team following a strong rookie season in the championship which saw him take four podiums over the course of the year. Racing alongside him will be reigning Super Formula and Super GT Champion Miyata who joins the team after a standout year competing in Japan.
A solid Formula Two debut for Maloney has seen the young Barbados driver prove fantastic pace on track. Four podiums over the course of his debut season was added to with a trip to the historic Macau Grand Prix earlier this month. Maloney, a previous F4 Champion, will be looking to consolidate all the fantastic experience he picked up this season and convert it towards victories and a championship fight in 2024.
Maloney said, “I’m really pleased to be remaining with the team for the 2024 season. I feel as though I’ve learned so much this year on track and I really believe we’re in a good place to hit the ground running next year. I’ve been with the team for three out of my five years in single seaters so it’s like a family here; I’m looking forward to continuing that relationship and going for the championship together in 2024.”
Japanese racer Miyata makes the move to the Formula Two championship after an enthralling season in Super Formula. Taking championship spoils at the final round of the season, Miyata clinched two victories and six podiums over the course of what turned out to be an incredibly hard-fought season. The Toyota young driver has been a force to be reckoned with this season; also competing in the Super GT Series, the 24-year-old secured championship victory here as well – further cementing his skills.
Miyata said, “I’m excited to join Rodin Carlin and participate in FIA F2 for the 2024 season. Rodin Carlin has lots of experience and have achieved great things in the series. For me, it is my first time driving a Formula 2 car and the tracks on the calendar, so I have a lot to learn but I’m really looking forward to working with the team.
“I would like to thank Morizo-san, TGR staff, all the partners and Rodin Carlin who created this opportunity and supported me to race in FIA F2 this season. I will do my best to meet everyone's expectations."
Rodin Carlin once again enjoyed a successful season on track which placed the team third overall at the conclusion of the year.
Maloney and Miyata will be out this week for official postseason testing which takes place at the Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi from Wednesday.
